My name is Dr. Fredrick L. Hecht. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’m a Board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who received my Undergraduate Degree in chemistry and philosophy from University of Connecticut and my Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in 1971. I did my residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania . I joined Currie/Hecht in 1993. I am a diplomate of the Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and belong to a number of organizations: American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Pennsylvania Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, The Academy of Osseointegration and the National Sleep Society.
I have devoted my professional career to all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice with special interests in the treatment of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and dental implants. To keep abreast of the latest developments in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, I have always exceeded the continuing education requirements of Pennsylvania.
My hobbies include astronomy, sports, swimming, chess, photography, art, railroading, training my dogs and boating. I’ve been married for eighteen years to my wife, Kathy. We have four children: Fred, Kristin, Lauren, Rylee, and dogs Tico and Cosmo.
